That said.when i reinstall Tradestation, i have to re-import all of my custom strats and indicators but that is a small price to pay to make sure everything is backed up exactly where I want it to be.
This allows me to keep all my desktops, strategies, indicators, etc backed up and safe. I use SpiderOak to 'sync' all the data in my Tradestation directories to my backup server (and to the cloud). The backup process should include these but I have to admit that its been over a year since I've looked at the backup process.I just set it and forget it. Is there a way to automate this into the backup process or should I be saving data in these folders to somewhere else? Thanks for any tips. When I went to restore, my workspaces and some custom indicators were missing b/c they are contained in these folders. By default, TradeStation automatically downloads patch updates to your computer once the platform is launched. Color-coded visual cues are used to indicate the status of the release version or patch update displayed. The backup function does not (unless I am going something wrong) copy the 'MyWork' and 'Desktop' folders. The TradeStation Update Manager window allows you to install new release versions and apply/roll-back TradeStation updates. I recently learned the hard way that the backup & restore functionality is not enough to capture the entire setup.
